The benefits of karate training are multi-faceted. The adult classes really get to experience what training in Goju Ryu karate offers. The discipline has been practiced for centuries and developed for self defense. The classes attempt to encompass the depth of the discipline. This is really a cultural treasure of Okinawa as an art form. Changes have not been made for the new competition orientation of many styles. The students must dedicate themselves to serious training. We will not claim to be easy. The material is technical and repetitious. Practicing at this level will reward the student in so many areas of life. A few of the benefits are: Self discipline Respect Responsibility Greater coordination Self control Confidence Including a great amount of strength training and an orientation towards self defense. Training regularly with many different people (body types) gives the student a real “hands on” approach to these self defense skills. It is recommended students train a minimum of 10 times per month or 2-3 times weekly. The more one trains the greater the benefits. For convenience we offer 5 classes weekly for teens and adults. Students and parents can organize their schedule to fit our class times, selecting freely from the schedule. |
